This is off topic with regards to this PR, but I was wondering whether 'mediam' (the product of medium and amplexī eliding) should be treated as a new, separate word (i.e. should the new "am" nasalize). The grammar currently doesn't do this because of our definition of i.BOW.
I simply don't know (and the meter doesn't tell us) but I don't think so. I think I would transcribe this as [me.di.am.plek.siː] assuming it's the second vowel that "wins" in elision.
I put the two failed Aeneid 2 tests into the meter grammar - it seemed like the syllable parse was failing, so I modified the grammar to allow "skw" onsets (sq).
