Did any other systems on the circuit reboot as well? Or were they already on UPSs.
The iMac two feet to the left of telomere did not reboot, but I can't meaningfully guess whether they're on the same circuit. -ST

Working on it.
Emailed users: please export to DVD for now
Hi Michael, Joe, Madeleine, Keith (cc: Gopi),
Please fall back to exporting your 3T sessions to DVD until Keith and Rob rebuild our DICOM receiver. We've been testing it (telomere.birc.emory.edu) the last few weeks, and last week it shut itself down in the middle of the night. You may track status here if you like:

Have UPS online and charging with new battery. Building Mavericks DVD for install.
Telomere is rebuilt with Service login. Will likely change the name, but not much of the configuration since it works. Battery is here and will be installed tomorrow.

R, 20140828:
Telomere, currently acting as our OSIRIX DICOM receiver, locked up hard at 4:02 am local time (logs pasted below). Keith had to physically turn it back on around 1:30 that afternoon.
This was either a serious failure of hardware, system services, or it means that there was a power failure and telomere didn't respect its "Startup automatically after power failure" setting.
Repairing disk permissions didn't catch anything that is obviously related to the crash.
Please reformat and rebuild.
