Events are not connected to Map #14

In order to have events in the MapView's cntlr, I need to first go back and re-login to the account. Then, I have to go to the Nearby Events page, refresh the page, and only then can I see the events in the Map View section.

Also, after I refresh the app and am logged in, I can't actually see the events in the Nearby Events page. I have to first go back to the home screen, re-login, and only then can I see the events in the Nearby Events section.

JK the only issue is that the user must re-login to their account in order to see the events
