This is fair, and is indeed an inconsistency with respect to the way our application handles expiration dates.
However, we also believe that this is not something that a normal user will typically do.
Perhaps there might be some instances where a user may need to backdate expiration dates of items in their inventory? Though we cannot fathom why they would do so, we give the benefit of the doubt here.
Despite this, we believe that such occurrences are generally very rare, and have little to no impact on the functionality of our application whatsoever. Thus, we find that a Medium severity is not justified, and we have reduced the severity of this issue to Low instead.

When updating expiry date, if you input a date that was earlier than today, it will be saved. However, when you are setting expiry date, this will not be allowed. This creates some inconsistency.
