Pitch planning for Thursday

As far as we know, we will have to cover the following points in Thursday's pitch:

• A description of the problem
• Results of this week's testing
• The product owners availability for the next month
• A development plan (i.e. how are they going to ensure the product gets some traction)

Great -- I will get to work on a powerpoint for this either this evening or tomorrow and send it around to all.

I am thinking about ordering the slides like this:

1. Implementation (how easily they can be brought into use in a service, or with young people/families)
2. Technical viability (how easily the idea can be fully executed from a technical standpoint)
3. Need (what is the need for the app)
4. Evidence-base (what is the evidence base for the thing that the app does)
5. Product ownership (who will be owning the product and can they make the time available)
6. User Experience (UX) feedback (feedback gathered during the week between 2nd and 9th February)
7. Product roadmap (plans for further development)

Food and refreshments will be available from 5:30pm and each of the six teams will have 10mins to present their app and a panel will choose 2 apps to be developed further. The session will close soon after 7pm. As in previous hackathons, apps will be judged on a demonstration of the app alongside a presentation that covers:

Hi Nori -- I can give you the feedback from the young advisers group. We are still collecting data from the Survey Monkey questionnaire and can collate it tomorrow. Here's the info from the meeting one of our colleagues had with the young advisers (Dan and I did not attend this meeting):

Contextual information: Young Advisers Meeting at Rodney street – young advisers, 6 people, 18-21, all current or ex service users who had mostly experienced with depression or were carers of someone with depression. Were shown the prototype and asked what they thought about it. Our colleague said that the feedback was overwhelmingly positive (even though it looks like there is more negative than positive below)

Positive Feedback:

• Liked the design, loved the reference to dog as used in MH literature.
• Liked the overall concept and purpose
• Liked the transitions and animation in the interactive area

Areas for Improvement:

• Progression and navigation is unclear throughout the app. There needs to be more clarity as to where the user is, and how to get back (e.g a back/home button)
• It’s unclear what is within the interactive/Q&A options
• The language is very CAMHS heavy
• There are terms that YP may be unfamiliar with, it may be helpful to use a design pattern to provide clarity on these
• It’s not very responsive to touches
• There needs to be more explanation of purpose on the front page
• They didn’t like the term Q&A as it was unclear and didn’t fit with the content
• Unsure of whether practical is the right term, and why it’s linked to a mirror
• It was unclear to them what was interactive within the app
• Dog food icon was not popular

  at every page there is a home icon on the top right of the page. the icon might be too small. its something we should definitely look into. moreover, a reason for that might be the limited information that we have about QA and interactive at the home page. maybe adding more info about these two will make people feel more comfortable and less lost 💃

I think it's important to mention some solutions at the presentation to these problems. it will make it clear that this problems won't block us from making this app work as well as we want it to.
