I'll take this up with Dana. Seems like we should be able to piggyback off of I2 somehow, but we'll find out. $15K is a non-trivial expense on a recurring basis.

Since CILogon is a critical piece of RCD Nexus infrastructure that enables us to outsource almost all user vetting to institutional IDPs, we should explore obtaining a proper subscription.

The main advantages of the "Essential Service" tier for us is a proper SLA and a custom CILogon login page, which could be branded for CaRCC/RCD Nexus instead of the basic green CILogon theme.
We should see if anyone in the WG has contacts with the CILogon team at NCSA/Illinois, or otherwise see how the subscription price fits into the current sustainment model (I2 grant).
