Investigate incorrect coverage reports #106

The test coverage report made from tarpaulin has many errors and missed lines, that should be covered (or not). This should be investigated.

I can't easily test tarpaulin until a compiler bug is fixed. I am putting this ticket on hold until rust/issues/47309 is closed.
