Broken link on https://cacti.net/documentation.php #112

At least three links are broken. Cacti Documentation Site Installation Guide for Unix/Linux Installation Guide for Windows

I suggest replace it with links to github.com/Cacti/documentation

they shouldn't be broken, but let me go look :)

netniV commented 3 years ago

It is indeed broken but not because the link is wrong more that the server or service appears to be in a bad state. So, once I figure out my VPN access as I've just left my day job and have a new business laptop now, I will get on and see why. The plan has always been to ensure that the old links work but are pointed at the new documentation.

It appears that we turned off the server after some suspected hacking and need to implement the new server so that will now become a priority, but thanks for raising this as an issue.

So I have made a start, most links will likely fail right now, but it looks a bit more modern too. Once I get it fully in a style that we all like, might even apply it to the front end too :)

Meanwhile, could you do me a favor and see any links on the main and docs site that are wrong, and if you can find them the correct ones? @bmfmancini would be a good one to assist with this as he's had a fair bit of doc diving recently 👍

I have now added a bad link error page so that people can directly report to github when there is a link that fails to make things easier too.

So, the docs site is now up dated. The main site will be updated soon and any bad links should now be reported back through to GitHub if people wish to report the problem.
