Restart Firefox to apply changed proxy settings #37

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
If Firefox is running while the proxy settings in prefs.js are changed,
prefs.js will be overwritten when exiting Firefox and the proxy settings will
never get activated.

One solution is to kill firefox.exe forced and restarting it after applying the
proxy settings. Firefox normally restores the last state when restarted. Maybe
a short countdown should allow the user to cancel the restart of Firefox when
applying a profile with Firefox proxy settings.

The only really clean solution might be to use a Firefox plugin that activates
the proxy settings without restarting. Maybe there is already a plugin
available that could be controlled by Net Profiles mod?

Firefox is restarted if running while applying the profile. The warning before
killing Firefox is not implemented
yet.

This issue was updated by revision 2fbdfe840276.

A warning is now shown before restarting Firefox. Language support for the
warning is currently missing and prevents closing this issue.
