I think it would have been better to show Gen 1 sprites for Gen 1, Gen 2 for Gen 2 etc, instead of just having a default sprite for all of them. Lots of the charm in the older gens is looking at the sprites and seeing how some of them evolved. Maybe the newer fans don't like this but at least introduce the option for the entire sheet to have generation accurate sprites if you check something off?
