Regarding the description "Canadian Aboriginal", we have been following the code list in the ISO 15924 (https://unicode.org/iso15924/iso15924-codes.html) which uses "Unified Canadian Aboriginal Syllabics" as the English name for the code cans.
There is uncertainty initially regarding if it's appropriate to deviate from this.
At the end, it is agreed that it's not appropriate to deviate from the ISO 15924 description, but in the case that it's appropriate to deviate, "Unified Indigenous Syllabics in Canada" could be a good candidate to replace the current description.

Annie Wolfe from BAC/LAC raised an issue regarding the descriptions "Canadian Indigenous" and "Canadian Aboriginal", which denote colonial ownership of Indigenous peoples.
A suggestion is to use "Indigenous peoples in Canada..." or "Aboriginal Peoples in Canada...", while at the same time refrain from using "... of Canada" as that also implies ownership.
