I don't think a twitter+blog posts is feasible without rewriting the twitter.js. I'm not going to do it. I can pull in RSS from the blog though.
What would go in quick links? So far it's nothing and serves the same purpose as the navbar we already have. I only really see it being helpful to list specific related pages when not viewing the index.
See #17 for the events/calendar.
We don't have to do it in JS? We could have it statically generated from the twitter RSS and blog rss.
Quick Links on all sites should be like: How do I join? View Schedule Get Involved
Essential things that should be on every page for people to easily find.
Feel free to update on this rambling with input. Just brainstorming...
Find some way to merge Latest news into being Twitter+Blog posts? Quick Links should be at the top of every template page including the home page. And I don't know if the talk finder helps the page or confuses people.
We should consider what people do when they first browse our site, and what they are looking for. I suspect its going to be companies checking to see if we actually are a security club/it club, and students to see if we're worth their time. That judgment is made in less then a minute, what can we show on the page that can sell it?
I'm inclined to think that we can put more content to describe our areas of expertise much like cppfast.org, calpolymissa.org, and hackucf.org. Perhaps use the same gray as news as well. Also the calendar should automatically generate content from the SWIFT Public calendar.
