Is your suggestion related to a problem? Please describe. Problem Statement 1

  1. Citizens are aware of policy that is being considered that is highly impactful to them, without needing to follow every vote.
  2. Citizens are able to understand the specific impact of proposed policy on them without being a legal expert.

Brief description of your idea: Can we please clarify what we mean by "impact"? Perhaps we can enumerate these to specific impacts: a. Financial impact, the policy may affect how much a person pays in taxes, how much they earn (minimum wage), etc. b. Services impact, the policy may affect the availability of health and human services, access to legal abortions, access to library books, access to medical treatment or testing, access to legal marijuana, access to non-binary gender restrooms c. Social impact, the policy may affect your ability to marry who you want, to socialize openly with your group of friends, to peacefully protest. d. Commercial impact, the policy may affect the products you can buy, how they are bought, where they are bought, when they can be bought. Products could be related to a specific subset of residents or citizens.

What is your proposed solution? Review the above and discuss clarifications of which impacts we will focus on. This will determine what measurements that will be "highly impactful" rather than "minor annoyance".

What is the impact of your solution Once we have agreement on categories of different impact types, we can prioritize, or identify them graphically with icons.
