disconnected pull-down menu items #33

Please consider greying-out menu items that are not available, such as NGPS>Preferences, NGPS>Shutdown, and all Edit, View, Tools, Help menus.

Another suggestion would be to leave them enabled but create a pop-up window for them with a message, "this isn't available yet" etc. However, I think that unless the popup window is able to convey something useful beyond simply "not available" then greying it out serves the same purpose and makes it clear at a glance that it's not available, rather than creating a window which the user then has to dismiss.

I have implemented the NGPS>Shutdown, NGPS>Preferences has been disabled,Tools>Optimize Observation Order has been disabled. I have implemented the links for the help menu and at the moment they open google.com. The URL's are stored in a configuration file url.ini in the config directory.
