  1. It is a chess game but we didn't add any AI to play against. Well, I did not take any AI classes so I think I need to find a way to make the game playable in single-player.

I think you can go with this. There is no intelligence moreso than figuring out the moves that are legal and randomly picking one of those moves would be enough
