Because I am a masochist. Also nostalgia. TKinter is a Python package for creating GUIs

PyGame? Or wouldn't that work?

It would, but TKinter is something of a nostalgic library for me, even if it is trash. Plus it is a bit more versatile as a general purpose GUI library than PyGame. I will add a session for that too though, and maybe one of the better Python GUI libraries
