changes to incorporate app status (vs. deprecated 'isLoading" indicator) to freeze input if current operation is still processing. Should eliminate issues with message ordering incorrect

This happened on the first input. The conversation completely disappeared after the first input, and after waiting for a little bit I decided to type in a second question, which made the first question re-appear. I'm not sure if this is caused byt the first question taking too long to load since I watied quite a bit, and after the second question was typed in the answer popped out instantly.
