(This is the template to report a data issue for Vascan. If you want to report another issue, please change the template above.)

What is the URL of the page where the problem occurs? http://data.canadensys.net/vascan/taxon/5353

What data are incorrect or missing? Dioscorea glauca Muhlenberg ex Bartlett Dioscorea quaternata var. glauca (Muhlenberg ex Bartlett) Fernald Dioscorea villosa subsp. glauca (Muhlenberg ex Bartlett) R. Knuth Dioscorea villosa var. glabra Lloyd

What data are you expecting instead? Dioscorea glauca Muhlenberg ex L.C.Beck Dioscorea quaternata var. glauca (Muhlenberg ex L.C.Beck) Fernald Dioscorea villosa subsp. glauca (Muhlenberg ex L.C.Beck) R. Knuth Dioscorea villosa var. glabra J.Lloyd ex A.Gray

If applicable, please provide an authoritative source. Grin has D. glauca Muhl. ex L.C.Beck - checked from original lit. (1833 - date fits L.C.Beck), Tropicos and IPNI just have Beck, but provide no lit citation. Tropicos has D.v. var. glabra J.Lloyd ex A.Gray (1908), but it's not in IPNI or GRIN.

Sue

L.C. Beck does not appear to match in terms of papers/books written. I do not know how the checking at GRIN was done.

Bot. U. St. cannot be found in HUH databases or BPH. The citation provided in GRIN would make sense, but needs to be checked.

You are right that Bartlett is the wrong author, but the particular Beck involved and the proper citation are a mistery.

To be followed.

Those were original FNA errors. I corrected to L.C. Beck and J. Lloyd

I will leave the mystery aside since all agree LB
