What data are you expecting instead? Thelypteris spinulosa var. intermedia (Muhlenberg ex Willdenow) Nieuwland

Wellll - it seems less clear the more I look

Following FNA, I did adopt the Muhl. ex Willd. you are suggesting

But I have a hard time finding confirmation in TROPICOS or IPNI

i am starting to wonder whether the authorities in FNA were correct, or whether those reported in the online sources are also erroneous

This needs validation
