FHIMP - Phase 2 Wireframes and Mockups Report - Dataset/Metadata page improvements #324

Improvements have been suggested to the dataset/Metadata pages, as noted below:

[ ] Map toolbar for shortcut to perform map functions. Could also be collapsible (1st image) [ ] Dataset presentation updated to tabs, changed from a stacked list of details (1st image) [ ] Top banner added a visible search bar, along with favorites/bookmarks, alerts, view map lists, and user login options (1st image) [ ] Help lin for context sensitive help (2nd image) [ ] Clear links for download or to show a status, (eg., no link, in progress, etc..) (2nd image)

From Bo: For #324, I see the ticket is FHIMP specific, so it seems to be a heavily customized page for them. The metadata details page in general is being revamped in app.geo.ca v2, so it something we won’t fix in the current app.geo.ca. Do you have any screenshots of how the metadata details page looks like currently Pascal?

From Johann: When I look at #324, the images are not using the viewer who will replace RAMP. This UI is out of synch with the new viewer. We need to be really careful when we create prototype to ensure synchronicity with GeoView (from Vlad prototype) and the new metadata page. The metadata page should reuse what we have instead of recreating new stuff.

Met with Vlad and determined that with the new prototype:

the toolbar for shortcuts is not needed, as the Geoview footer panel menu bar has this functionality. The only difference is the footer panel menu bar is under the map, and the toolbar would be top of the page.
has tabs for Resources, Metadata, Contact, etc.
has a help link

The issues not covered by the prototype are:

user login for bookmarks and saving maps, etc. Pascal indicated user login targeted for December 2024
status of links. Need to determine if this will be a feature.

Status of links - check with with Johann if this functionality currently exists, and if it needs to be included in the prototype.
