Service reefing blocks and pulleys in boom #445

Closed smr547 closed 2 years ago

Plastic components wear quickly and require annual servicing/replacement. Usually a work for a rigger but can be done by skilled member. See #411

Should do this ASAP in Airlie (see #427 )

Should we use smaller diameter lines??

Nick (Ruel Rigging) called to say he will start work on our rigging list this coming Monday but will need the boat for the week because of supply issues with boom sheaves. He said that the halyard shortening is a good idea but he will have to knot halyard at the head -- splicing is not possible with aging halyard as the casing become too hard to work with. He will advise when he's had a closer look.

I mentioned the boat will be slipped Tuesday. Nick said he will coordinate with Steve but also said that he may need some days from the following week. I suggest we block out N3 for bookings right up to Xmas to allow this work to proceed.

@delcosta and @peterottesen will be interested.
