Fire Extinguisher Audit #658

Open PSARN opened 1 year ago

PSARN commented 1 year ago

It appears that the fire extinguishers on board Namadgi have NOT been inspected or retested for quite some time. My understanding is these fall under the OH&S act and require regular inspection(six monthly) and pressure testing every 5 yearly is required. Some extinguishers are dated 12/2016 @smr547

Three new Fire Extinguishers have been purchased and delivered to N3. Installation is required.

@Christopher-w-green @mrmrmartin will be interested

If you can provide details of the 3 new extinguishers i will add them to the inventory. Required is: Picture Stamped date Once they are installed i will remove the old items from the inventory SN Location installed

smr547 commented 1 year ago

A reminder from Mark Miller to please check all extinguishers -- re-opening this issue

Keep the old ones... We can use them on a safety day to teach fire fighting.

This issue is NOT Complete. I noted during the Safety Equipment Audit, the two large extinguishers with hoses are dated 2017, with no other markings nor a pressure gauge.

The smaller (0.75kg?) extinguishers have a pressure gauge (which is reading charged-correct) and a inspection tag stamped Dec22 - I assume these are the replaced extinguishers IMG_20240411_085733423_Low

What are the OH&S and AS regulations?
