stand alone survival module #34

survival module independent

In short think carefully about how to best make

1) survival module independent of other NC modules. 2) make NC workflow easy without calling the survival module

1) survival module independent of other NC modules

It should be possible to run the survival module independently.

A) within a NC environment. B) without/ouside a NC environment. IF PROVIDED A NC FORMATTED DATASET.

The survival extract_define and statistics functions should:

1) have no NC dependencies 2) reflect the underlying Stata commands using the same name for arguments etc

Thus a R user and a Stata user can used the functions/programs "in the same way". Also, outside NC.

We don't have that much time available for the spring-version and we still have things we need to fix, so I want us to wait with this until the spring-version is finished. Milestone is therefore (for now) set to Autumn 2021. It might be we also have to postpone it further, depending on available resources and size of task.

IF we have time to start looking at it earlier (to explore it) we need to do so in a way that doesn't break what we already have. As Bjarte writes in his e-mail: we probably need a separate branch for this so we don't mess with the original code now.

Issue: stand alone survival module Huidong comment: very possibly , this will not be done in next version of NORDCAN

CotterpinDoozer commented 1 year ago

I suggest we postpone this until a later version of NORDCAN (NORDCAN 9.4? NORDCAN 9.5?)
