Final Cut Pro X display is mis-interpreting italics tags from EBU #203

I used Swift to export an EBU stl. After importing the EBU stl into SE, I 
switch to Final Cut Pro X view, and see that italics codes are remaining in the 
actual DISPLAY text, and being flagged by the people I send it to. {an8\} 
Shouldn't this "hide" from display?
