[Feature Request] - Differentiate between Albums and Singles/EPs #259

Summary

Tempo would provide an option to display albums and singles/eps separately.

Description

Tempo would provide an option to display albums and singles/eps separately. The cut off could even be user defined (ie 4 or less is considered EP, 5 or more album.

Use Case

Many of us have (especially djs) have vast collections of music, some of which consist of single songs by a given artist. This makes the album browsing experience arduous when one really wants to listen to a full album. Most of what we see are these singles which are falsely represented as "artists".

offtopic, possibly useful; how I work around it (click to expand):
I edit the metadata tags of such tracks, setting the Album and Album Artist tags to something like "My Favorite DnB Songs" by "Me", which then brings them together in the UI, although it does clobber the original metadata.

The elements visible on the screen at this moment are the result of the processing of the music library of the Subsonic server. The server does not differentiate between albums/EPs/singles, so to my request to have all the albums, Subsonic will respond with a mix of the elements mentioned above. I cannot do any processing on the app side first of all because Tempo is intended to be a simple client that delegates the logic to the server, and then my manual intervention would leave room for too many unexpected behaviors outside of my control. So I'm sorry, but I don't think I can implement a similar control on the app side.
