Downtown SE Prefabs

Description

• Make four prefabs for the Downtown neighborhood the way that we went over in class.
• Find your personal folder within the project
  • You can find your folder at _Project > Prefabs > Environment > Prototyping > Intersections > [your name]_
  • Create your prefabs in this folder.
    • Duplicate (copy and paste) the BASE INTERSECTION prefab from your folder
    • Rename it to the name of the prefab you're working on
    • Double click it to enter "Prefab Editing" mode.
  • Work on your prefabs in the Prefab Editor, instead of in a scene

Remember

• Work on your prefabs inside the Unity repo. Copy/pasting from other projects can result in rendering/texturing errors and general compatibility issues
• Every time you sit down work, Fetch & Pull first.
• Every time you are about to stop working, even if you aren't totally done, Commit & Push
• If you have any questions, ask!

Looking good! but there are some things to fix. I'll go prefab by prefab.

BASE INTERSECTION 1

• Name the prefabs according to their intersections, in your case they should be SE_1, SE_2, and so on.
• The buildings should be their own separate layer, so when the player walks in the city, they will be rendered behind the buildings or in front of the buildings, accordingly (see images). This objects that you want the player to be behind and in front of (like decorations, light posts, fences, etc) should be their own separate tilemap, and they have to be the same order in layer as the player. For now that order is 2, that can change later.

• Street lines are not correct (I will upload a photo on discord soonish on how should they look)\
• Lines should be painted on base, not origin.
• There are too many blocks drawn that the player won't see, and this can lead to performance issues (see images)

BASE INTERSECTION 2

• Same as before, buildings should be their own tilemap.
• Lines
• Theres a floating block on the white building.

BASE INTERSECTION 3

• Bridge should be it's own tilemap.
• Maybe add some more details below?

BASE INTERSECTION 4

• Same as above.

Overall, they are looking good, but these factors are crucial to the proper work of the game.
