Brief

Using the drone data from: 2023-2024 I-10 Project\02 - Resources\01 - Files from Caltrans\05-Drone Data 6-2023

Generate a landxml file using the point cloud data for Ramsey St and Main St. Attach/open the landxml file in OpenRoads and save the terrain in file titled, "ramsey_st_eg_v0.1.0" and "main_eg_v0.1.0".

Save the dgn files at: 2023-2024 I-10 Project\06 - Joint Design Teams\02 - Design Team 2 (Zi)\[first_name]

Comment on this post when you start and have finished creating the existing ground files.

Preliminary Knowledge

The point cloud data for Ramsey St can be found in: 05-Drone Data 6-2023\Ramsey St\2_densification\point_cloud

The point cloud data for Main can be found in: 05-Drone Data 6-2023\Main\2_densification\point_cloud

I found this Youtube video on how to generate a .xml file using .las. The video is not in English, however just following along the video is enough. There are English captions but it's gibberish for the most part. In the photo the white dots are the ground data, the green lines are the major contours, and the blue lines are the minor contours. This was made on a separate file just so I could test it out but I will continue working on it tomorrow.

It looks beautiful, never knew it would be so precise with drone data. After you finish playing with Ramsey st, could you do the same for main? It's a larger las file so it may be more difficult to parse. Tremendously good work.
