Create database of Private Prions, cross-checked w/ HIFLD

First search and see if someone has already made this data available (I haven't been able to find it)

Its the same format that Savannah used for looking up ICE facilities, so you can check out what hers looks like when its filled in.

at the bottom you can see three tabs for the three largest prison companies. I did the first one for you and then you are going to need to look up the second and third ones (i put the link that you will do this with at the top of column A in tabs 2 and 3. Once you have the facilities in there, you will download the HIFLD data https://opendata.arcgis.com/datasets/2d6109d4127d458eaf0958e4c5296b67_0.csv?outSR=%7B%22latestWkid%22%3A3857%2C%22wkid%22%3A102100%7D (if that doesn't work click the download button on this page https://hifld-geoplatform.opendata.arcgis.com/datasets/prison-boundaries/data?geometry=97.022%2C-3.069%2C-116.728%2C75.954) and then see if you can find matches between the private prisons and the HIFLD. and when you do just copy that line of HIFD in.

if you have any comments about a facility you can put that in the last column. Hope this make sense!

Hi Ivy! I think you may just want to copy and paste one by one. I've tried to scrape but because its inside that scrolling window its causing issues and it will end up saving everyone time.

My guess is that it will be less 15 mins of copying and pasting. I've gone ahead and did the final tab and started the GeoGroup list. Its best if you can do it like i did where they hyperlink is maintained. Just right click on the link and copy it and paste it and the link should be preserved. this will be helpful later for double checking accuracy.

How do I copy the facility name along with the link being automatically attached to the name ?? If you go into the sheet you'll be able to better understand my question. Thanks again!

Here is a gif of how i do it (you may need to click through to the website from the email to see it). The little circle pops up around my cursor when i'm clicking.

I just highlight and then right click, copy, and paste. Does this not work for you? I can just do it if its not working for you.
