Checkboxes and settings menus need completion #7

This involves migrating the checkboxes to the menu bar drop-downs and fixing the layout of the settings menus. Settings boxes inside these menus will also need code added to show last inputs.

Since most settings are fine as-is (i.e. hard-coded) for the demo, this is being moved to the "Release 1.0" milestone.
