Sometimes when rapidly changing movements between different and opposite directions startup of animation is extremely slow (but is still performing).
Possible Solution:
Most likely when opposite direction orders are given while performing movements, the startup has to fight against previous given AnimationMoveVector orders received, which results and a lot slower and therefore longer startup times until an animation is correctly performed.
