User Request: Global Forest Watch Data in DO #331

An Enterprise user would like to import Global Forest Watch deforestation data. Global Forest Watch makes this data available via ArcGIS as raster data. The user would like to map this data in Builder.

They are interested in having this data available via DO.

We have provided a workaround to use Global Forest Watch WMS service to add the layer as a basemap. However, they are interested in having the data as a data layer.

I would love to see something like this in DO!

However, GFW data does not fit the current model of DO very well. For starters, most of it is raster, and DO only really supports vector data right now. GFW also has some vector data, but it's mostly alerts (real-time) which also does not fit into DO very well.

But definitely something to keep an eye on as we expand the design of DO.
