CasparCG Server is a Windows and Linux software used to play out professional graphics, audio and video to multiple outputs. It has been in 24/7 broadcast production since 2006. Ready-to-use downloads are available under the Releases tab https://casparcg.com.
In order to produce UHDTV content, 10 bit input and output and at least 10 bit processing will be required for:
Non-gamma electro-optical transfer functions enabling higher dynamic ranges on brighter displays
Wider colourspaces.
Other aspects of UHDTV (higher pixel density, faster framerates etc.) will become available in components used like FFMPEG and the Blackmagic SDK, but without higher bit depth processing, UHDTV will not be possible.
Something worth noting on this, is that the supported pixel formats from the decklink sdk are very limiting, with no format that is both 10bit and with an alpha channel.
A longer term feature request.
