I have the same issue, which has started yesterday, done all the above as well, didn't work
Same problem, done what is said in the readme. No issues yesterday, but today something fried. Was issues all over the platform yesterday, something got patched? Idk.
Same problem exactly on MacOS Monterey 12.6.5
i noticed the problem on Windows on android still works, linux not tested i will try investigate next days
Same issue for me too also using windows.

Same issue on windows since yesterday. Not sure how to fix this?
I have the same error I'm afraid
i tried check but for now i have found nothing rilevant just minor changes that has no influence on this on linux and android works correctly, just windows/macos raise the error it suggest more a website server problem in recent times the website often has problems i have no idea how website workaround the problem
Ok thanks, perhaps I can find something in windows that causes this problem.

Netflix video works okay on my MacOS in Safari but the add-on still has the 1044 error.
In my windows 10 it shows the error, then plays the video only about 2 minutes and then freezes. The sound continues. Resume play of anything beyond this point does not work. Audio plays. Video not visible, could be in the background, but I cannot get it to show. Hoping for a fix...
Also seeing the same issue - also on windows 10, browser based access is fine, but the plugin on KODI20 returns MSLErrror: This title is not available to watch instantly. 1044 ERROR. Playback will run for just over 2mins and then the video freezes.
Have tried the usual reset of ESN, log out and back in - to no avail.
Happy to make logs available \ test stuff if useful - appreciate how frustrating it is contributing a popular plugin like this and having Netflix make a change and -BAM- suddenly you have a long list of maintenance requests.

Can confirm the 2 min play and then freeze. Same exact behaviour. Plays fine in Browser (Firefox). Difference in the account device overview is: It doesn't show a profile for the addon login. Win 10, Kodi 20
Same problem for Android TV 10, just tried it today
Same problem on windows 10; kodi 20.
None of the steps in the wini helped. Browser playback on the same machine works flawlessly.
I’m having the same issue.
On Android TV, I could stream fine using the add-on, but I always had the issue of getting only 540p. Yesterday, I tried resetting the ESN, hoping that would help with the resolution. That was when I started getting the MSLError.
Same problem, Windows 10 & Kodi 20.1. But, in Linux Mint 21.1 Cinnamon Kodi 20.1 addon works normally.
Same problem, tested on Windows 11 and Windows 7 Kodi 20.1 and Netflix (Castagnait); Android works fine. Tried Reinstall Widevine, no result. Logged out in Netflix, had to login with authentication key. Now i get Netflix add-on error ; Remoteprotocolerror Server disconnected Can't get into Netflix anymore.

I had this error several days ago, after logging out in addon, on Android.7.1.1 (Firestick4k). To be able to login again and get back into my account I first had to login via PC browser; then in my account I went to "Account -> SECURITY & PRIVACY -> Manage access and devices - and there I removed all instances of "Amazon Streaming Stick" After that I made a fresh authentication key with which I could again login to Netflix with Kodi NF_addon.
I also get this error message.
OS: Windows 10 Home Kodi: 20.1 Plugin version: latest
On the same machine the Netflix plugin is working fine under Zorin Linux (dual boot, same Kodi and plugin versions).
@Sholander Thanx, I removed the last instances as you proposed, first gave it a try with the old authentication key without success Created a new authentication key and indeed i could login again to the Kodi Netflix add-on. So far so good. I'm back to the beginning, there is the MSLerror again. So logoff and login of the Netflix account is no solution for the MSLerror.
@Sholander @alfaajx732 +1
Yep, very same situation here. I removed all the instances related to my PC, build a new key, connected and MSLerror . I can see subtitles then and the sound but no video.
thank U for the previous job by the way ;)
Same issue I tried Remové&reinstall complete addon Reinstall Widevine Build a new Key It doesn't work anyway
Edit: Kodi 20 over Windows 11
1.22.0+matrix.1 Reinstall Widevine Build a new Key It doesn't work anyway
Kodi 20 over Windows 11
Same issue
1.22.0+matrix.1 Win10 Kodi 20.1
Have done a complete reinstall.
It is pain 😪
1.22.0+matrix.1 Win10 22H2 Kodi 20.1
Tried diffrent Windows Devices, Recreated Auth Keys, Downgraded to 1.21/1.20.08. Nothing helps. Are there any Nightly builds or feature branchs that have a workaround?
Kodi v21 (Omega) tested noting change
Same problem, tested on Windows 11 and Windows 7 Kodi 20.1 and Netflix (Castagnait); Android works fine. Tried Reinstall Widevine, no result. I Have the same issue with LE12 Generic X86 20230429.
I did generate a new key, but now I'm stuck on info
Quite probably unrelated, but the YouTube addin seems to have broken within a few days of this.
https://github.com/anxdpanic/plugin.video.youtube/issues/442
A similar error has occurred with Android. I've got a wrong email&password error and cannot login anymore. Authentication key login is also not working... same password error when trying to play. I'm worried that Netflix has decided to force this addon to stop using.
Nvidia shield pro 2019, kodi 20.1 Addon stopped working today. I get a wrong email/password error. was able to login again only with authentication file, and was able to start browsing the menus of my account, but each time I tried to watch something I get the email/password error again.
but each time I tried to watch something I get the email/password error again.
yes on android as usual that shit of netflix server has broken user auth MSL API then in any case show "email/password error" and this not depends from the addon last time they has restored the API after some days
reintroduce the old workarounds will disable access to other profiles than main one so better wait a week
Same here. Video freezes after a short time. All the suggestions (widevine/ESN) to fix don't work. Tried at different physical locations, 2 x differing Win 10 machines, and both Kodi 19.5 and 19.4. All invoke the same error. Everything works fine through Firefox interface.
As of today, you can log in normally. Everything is fine.
I can login as usual, but MSLError are still unresolved (Win10/Kodi 20.1).
Thanks for the info ...etgecata...it now works again on the Shield ( Android 11 )
I can login as usual, but MSLError are still unresolved (Win10/Kodi 20.1).
Still same issue here (same setup)
MSLError
Issue still remain (Same setup)
Yes...that is correct the error still exists under Kodi - PC - Windows.
Hi, I have the issue on Windows with Kodi 20.1
I can't log in again. Everything was fine until last night.
I can provide a main difference that in: Kodi 19.4 Win 10x64 it does display the error, but after hitting "OK" it starts to play normally, BUT i can NOT seek, if i move the slider +1:00, +3:00 in the time-line, it INSTANTLY freezes the player!
In Kodi 18.9 Win10x64 ( i know its obsolete) but its worth noted that it displays the error and it does NOT even start to stream/play the movie.
Same issue and it is getting painful.... Windows 11, fresh install Kodi 20.1. Shows Error (1044) then almost exactly 2 minutes of content before video drops out. Just installed the same on Linux mint 20.3 and works fine.
From the original posters logs...
error <general>: XFILE::CDirectory::GetDirectory - Error getting C:\Program Files\Kodi\addons\inputstream.adaptive\
doesn't seem to impact as I linked the library to that location and it made no difference.
Nothing impacting in the commit history either. There is a commit in the relevant code, but this was 2 days after the original post.
I can only guess this relates to a windows update?
Same issue here. Still no solution ? Windows 10 / kodi 20.1
For sure windows update is not it. I have win 10 installation that is excluded from all updates (just serves as MCE). Also other OS have this issue
Read through the history. We have confirmed working one several Linux, Mac and android. There are a couple of complaints about the android tv, but doesn't sound like the same problem
If we rule out any updates for windows and changes to this repo... That leaves widevine, changes to the inputstream.adaptor plugin and the Netflix API itself. I highly doubt it's Netflix, but can't find versioning or release notes
I "think" can confirm that the issue started when widevine .dll updated. But i had tried to replace old .dll with no luck
Also i have two win10, one 1803, and one 21H2, and same. so NO windows update issue
Does the fact that I only started getting the error on Android TV after resetting the ESN give any clue?
