Thaumatophyllum species missing #251

Describe the problem: The species of the Thaumatophyllum genus are missing from the current release but are present upstream at KEW WSCP: https://wcsp.science.kew.org/

Although the COL is consistent with this: https://data.catalogueoflife.org/dataset/1024/names?facet=rank&facet=issue&facet=status&facet=nomStatus&facet=nameType&facet=field&limit=50&offset=0&q=Thaumatophyllum

I understood that the WSCP data was to be resynchronised as a result of #229 - is this no longer the case?

It got resynced, but not from the latest Kew data but the previous data found in the COL 2019 edition which we keep at https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Sp2000/colplus-repo/master/ACEF/24.tar.gz

In order to sync from Kew we need an updated export of their data. @yroskov does Kew know about this?

Rafael: To clarify WCSP, WCVP and POWO are all different views of the same database.

So far, CoL has no WCSP or WCVP export certified for use in CoL.

My last assessment of WCVP DwC available in the checklist bank shown that it was a "nude" synonymic checklist of names without distribution, etc. Is it still the case, @mdoering

Dear Rafaël, (2020-11-18) For your talks to colleagues: CoL needs distribution data for species & infra specific taxa, editorial authority and URLs to species pages at the online source. Unfortunately, I did not find these data in WCVP standard download at http://sftp.kew.org/pub/data-repositories/WCVP/. Yours, Yuri

Is there any update on this? It would be good to get the latest WCSP/WCVP dataset into the CoL.

Hi again,

I've noted quite a few other genera are out of date too, such as Acalypha. I gather that the WCSP/WCVP dataset still has not been updated?

In progress. Results will appear not earlier than April-May 2022.

Just in case you hadn't seen this already, WCSP and WCVP are to be integrated into POWO: https://powo.science.kew.org/upcoming-changes
