As requested by Tim Robertson I'm giving feedback on some omissions or possible errors in the Catalogue of Life database. A New Zealand endemic genus Tingena doesn't appear to be listed in the Catalogue of Life, with some species within this genus also not listed in the Catalogue of Life, while other species are listed under the genus Borkhausenia. This appears to be as a result of the LepIndex being out of date.

Thanks, @SiobhanLeachman - this is very helpful - cleaning up one genus at a time will move LepIndex forward. I know you've been doing some TaxonWorks training - would you like access to help with cases like this? If you would, we can get you access to the TaxonWorks version of LepIndex and perhaps Zoom to go through some of these live together. Otherwise, I'll try to deal with these before we cut over to the TW version of the dataset.

Thanks for the offer @dhobern but I'm feeling overwhelmed attempting to curate Wikidata as well as write Wikipedia species articles. As much as I'm very keen on TaxonWorks and the work being undertaken on that platform, I don't feel have the time to work on that project as well. I'm keen on writing Wikipedia articles for species so that they can then be ingested into iNaturalist to assist citizen scientists to get observations up to research grade.

Especially since I'm aware our national museum Te Papa is in the process of planning to publish their specimen data in GBIF and Manaaki Whenua Landcare Research has already done so. And of course there is all the occurrence data from iNaturalist which is currently not being aggregated for this species.

@olafbanki @dhobern The New Zealand Organism Register is out of date as it hasn't been worked on properly for a few years. Saying that lepidoptera is better off as someone was updating it at least until recently. However nowdays the most up to date database is the Manaaki Whenau Landcare Research Biota in New Zealand (https://biotanz.landcareresearch.co.nz/) I would LOVE if this was fixed in the short and long term as more and more NZ endemic type specimens held at overseas institutions such as at the Natural History Museum in London are getting digitised. Obviously I want all this data aggregated.

T. actinias is there and assigned as a synonym for T. armigerella - at least Borkhausenia actinias is present. I will check why that one ended up as a synonym. I think I found some more recent literature for some of the names, but I will check. It may be a mistake. Either way, I can add T. actinias as another combination. More soon.

I don't know where the synonymy came from - there is no evidence I can see for it, so I've removed it. I've got a few other pending changes to the TaxonWorks dataset, so I'll make those and upload it to CLB.
