This message was originally sent to the GBIF Helpdesk email. Gymnophora winqvisti and G. tyrolensis are distinct species, they aren't synonyms.

Literature references: Disney, R.H.L. 2017. Systematic review of the European Gymnophora Macquart (Diptera: Phoridae), with five new species. Fragmenta Faunistica (Warsaw) 60 (1): 23–46 (the person who originally sent us the feedback mentioned that they asked Henry Disney about this and in his opinion this proposed synonymy is incorrect).
