What exactly is the outdated part? The subfamily? Anything above the species comes from WoRMS which defines the species Polycirrus medusa Grube, 1850, not BOLD.
It looks like BOLD does not link the BIN to the species any longer. They do in the copy we have from 2024-07-19: https://www.checklistbank.org/dataset/37384/taxon/BOLD:ACE5004
Sorry, I have updated the original issue with more information. So the error is that the BIN is interpreted to species level but should be interpreted to genus level.
@CecSve any idea when that change happened? Our version is from July. @thomasstjerne, any idea if this is an artifact when creating DwC?
The user said it was around 1 year ago, but that does not match with the latest source you have... so either there is an artifact or the user may be off.
Likely an artefact in the DWC.
A GBIF user noticed that the correction to the taxonomy they provided, the BOLD BIN BOLD:ACE5004, is not passing through to GBIF. They originally provided Polycirrus medusa but have since corrected it to Polycirrus sp.
In the new release, this BIN resolves to the outdated taxonomy compared to BOLD. The taxonomy was updated on BOLD around a year ago.
