Email setup for CoL

catalogueoflife.org does currently not have any email, but sp2000.org does, which will go away soon. Consider here how to best setup the email communication for the CoL.

All email management should be done by Naturalis as the secretariat with DNS MX records being configured at GBIF. Primary adresses deemed important:

• secretariat@catalogueoflife.org
  • aliases: info@catalogueoflife.org
• support@catalogueoflife.org
  • this will be about any software problems, CoL content or how to contribute to the CoL

There should also be dynamic lists that the secretariat or list participants can write to

• the global team
• taxonomy group
• informatics group
• BoD
• all registered CoL users (e.g. to inform about planned system outages or big API changes) with the option for users to turn off being emailed. This needs to be driven by the CoL backend db

Ideally all the later ones are all driven from the CoL backend db. This would allow us to manage the people in one place and also show them on the new portal dynamically.

Suggest to start with setting up email forwarding using https://improvmx.com/ for all emails xyz@catalogueoflife.org to sp2000@sp2000.org

I've set the MX records, and it looks like someone with access to sp2000@sp2000.org should be able to log in and set up any aliases etc.
