Full name: Robert E. Lewis Flea (Siphonaptera) World Species List = @camiplata, I would suggest to drop off portion “Robert E.” from the title. Lighter title Lewis Flea (Siphonaptera) World Species List will be more memorable and easier pronounceable by users. The full name of the founder author Robert E. Lewis is properly given in the abstract.
Short name/Alias: fleasLWS = @camiplata, this name looks more as a technical ID rather than a short name for the checklist. Would it be more human readable LWS Fleas as a short name? Another variants is to use Lewis Fleas or World Fleas as a short name_
Version / Issued: 2023-06-22 / 2023-06-22 DOI: - Description: = @camiplata, I would like to check “Lewis World Species” in the abstract is a correct title? As for me, it refers more to a global checklist of everything, not to fleas only. Was it the intention of the checklist editors to say that?
The LWS (Lewis World Species) list was originally a list of valid species compiled and maintained by the late Robert E. Lewis (16 th edition, 2009 was his last listing). During his tenure, he distributed these extremely valuable informal, unpublished texts to a limited number of flea specialists around the world. Following his death, the list was converted to an Excel file with sorting capabilities. After the initial conversion of the LWS, Michael Hastriter and Robert Bossard continued to maintain and record many changes in nomenclature, synonyms, and newly described taxa. Currently there are 19 recognized Siphonapteran families, 259 flea genera (252 extant and 7 fossils), 2,695 valid extant species (including subspecies), and 17 fossil species. This is the most comprehensive listing of valid Siphonapteran taxa. There are also 965 synonyms included. The database provides classification designations for Infraorders, Superfamilies, Families, Subfamilies, Tribes, Genera, Subgenera and Species. The LWS list will be also published in Flea News on an annual basis. Contact: Hastriter, Michael, W.Brigham Young UniversityMonte L. Thank you Yury for the review, find some answers below:
Title, changed to Lewis Flea (Siphonaptera) World Species List. But I'll double check with the authors
Alias, changed to LWS fleas
The description is correct
Completeness, fixed to 100%
Taxa above genus have no authorstrings (only species/ssp & genera have them). = @camiplata, I guess, there are no authorstrings in the source yet. Does the editors plan to add them in the future? A: I plan to make an update of the list next month rescuing such information from Parhost and check with the authors if they agree. I also want to doble check is any species went "missing" from the GSD change, I will expect to find all as accepted or synonyms.
Subfamily Moeopsyllinae (family Pulicidae) has no children (= @camiplata, just in case, is it correct?). I'm checking this with the authors
Name Opisodasys jellisoni I. Fox, 1941 is a synonym with two different accepted species Tarsopsylla octodecimdentata (Kolenati, 1863) & Opisodasys vesperalis (Jordan, 1929) = @camiplata, just in case, is it correct? A: This is the case where they have one accepted name for females and other for males, authors did not changed this when I pointed out, and I did a quick search that seams to hold this true. I'll ask again. Yury and I agree to leave them for now as "ambiguous synonyms", non of the names will be block until we have answer from the authors.
Thank you, @camiplata !
I have replaced Parhost with LWS fleas. Results will be soon at the PREVIEW.

Parhost was imported in CLB from AC19 and has no authorstrings with taxa above species.
@camiplata, let me know, if something will be changed in metadata or data after your consultations with the editors. In this case, we need to re-sync data and re-do release.

Hi Yury,
After having confirmation with the authors I fixed the problem with the Subfamily Moeopsyllinae (family Pulicidae) that has no children, it was removed. Also did other minor fixed in an Authorship.
We don't have yet a logo we can use they are checking with the University. I think we should go ahead with this version do avoid many further re-syncs.
