Thanks @yroskov I will probably make some slight modifications on the description in the patch (if Phillip wants to modify or add information) and probaly he will add some contributors as well...

I just updated the metadata patch with two contributors Phillip Thomas wanted to include. He didn't have any more modifications.

... and that does not seem to apply the patch indeed. Im looking why that could be

The alias does not seem right in the patch - @DianRHR @yroskov what is it supposed to be? Currently we have this:

 "title": "Pinopsida from WFO"
 "alias": "WFO Plant List 2023-12"

I have made alias=WFO Pinopsida for now.

@thomasstjerne the UI does not seem to render the patched source metadata on a project source page like this but instead show the original source metadata. I will change that by removing the original=true parameter being send. I am fearing this might also influence the original data shown in the patch forms, could you verify this please? We to show 3 versions of the metadata on the source metadata page:

  1. the patched data as it would show in a release as the default
  2. the patch & the original source metadata side by side in the patch view

Another oddity in WFO metadata is temporalScope = Consensus taxonomy as of 2023-12-22 Makes no sense to me, I will try to remove that, but the NULL setting in the patch doesn't seem to work

@mdoering @thomasstjerne metadata logo's do not appear correctly in preview and on ChecklistBank of candidate COL April release.

It appears as if AnnonBase and Brassicaceae have been replaced by World Plants. This seems not apparent from the metadata of the release. Source data numbers between COL of March 2024 (164) therefore do not add up with source data number of candidate April release (163).

some metadata update for @yroskov then followed by a new release? Changes in sources should be mentioned in the metadata. Actually I would advocate for a changelog page on our website that lists all these changes in one big list - and aggregates annual changes so one can just view major version changes. If you all agree I could prepare a new page with some entries which needs managed by the editors in the future then? Not sure if we need to mention changes in data

you changed the metadata of the release, not the project ;) I guess that is fine if its just the description. That is not embedded anywhere else. If its a change in creator/contributor or title than it has consequences for DOIs etc and we would better do a new release. This way I think we can just publish what we got. Agree?

published that release as the april edition
