Could it be worth adding a notice to this project as well?
OBS Studio 26.1 includes virtual camera support, the user just has to install the v4l2loopback kernel module, and done, on the next launch the button will appear in the same way it does on Windows. Works with both the apt and snap versions of OBS Studio.
