Can you add **.DS_Store to the .gitignore and commit? That will get rid of the one there now and prevent this happening in the future.

A made a couple of small comments, but overall, these look really nice!

For distance transform and variance transform though, I thought we had talked about them being main-program modules? They can certainly start as plugins and then move to main when they have tests (and it won't hurt to have some nice new modules for CP5), just making sure I'm still remembering the plan correctly.

Yes that is the plan have them as plugins for now at least they are available, and once I have created the tests we can make them modules.
