• having a team (NPC) in your base

  • watching history changes if time travel
  • building base while you leave for quests/adventures
  • medic team - checking how you do

• soul in a kind of memory card / chip. When you die, your team come and pick up the chip to put it in a new body

  • you can have a new body ?! it's an advanced technology !!
  • goal could be, you were living in a town/city/country? and it's been partly destroyed by... tsunami? earthquake ? and you mean to build it again. (would explain why you can have advanced technology: could have been hidden in a safe place, so can be used)
  • 1st you have a place (a base?) with a team. it's rough, it's new, has to be upgraded (to get better stats for quest/adventure, for example)
  • in the mean time, you have a colony of survivors you need to take care. For that, you want to build a new village. With basic houses first, farms and orchards, a trader/shop, anything your village need to be happy and live a better life (add a happiness+hunger stats for the village?)
    • new survivors could come and join you. make them do things? like, the more survivors you have, the less it takes time to build a house or anything ?
  • quest and adventure to get items to build you base/village
  • Base and village could be the same at some point?
    • farms make you stronger in adventure (in the "need food to queue more adv" logic) and feed the survivors (hunger stat for them)
    • shop/trader (a place your survivors could trade, "one needs vegetable while another needs wool" kind of place) so you can have better prices in outter shop or while trading during a quest
    • herbalist for health base stat (find a thing to up on the char too?)
    • barber, library (...) for happiness base stat (find a thing to up on the char too? better chance to get rare loot?)

How to introduce time traveling in that kind of plot? :/

Link between buildings, char stats and survivors stats. Those are examples, as always.

• farm make food.

  • char needs food to queue hunt, fish, etc. (note: you may get food wile fishing and use it to continue the queue)
  • survivors needs food to survive. Basic life principe. Add a hunger stat to the base/village.

• herbalist gather herbs to heal.

  • char don't want to die in adventure. If no HP system, DEF buff?
  • survivors don't want to die by decease. You want herbs to heal your survivors. Add a health stat to the base/village.

• shop/trader in your base. mostly for your survivors, but still useful for the char

  • char get better prices in shops/traders outside the base.
  • survivors can have a little buff to their happiness/hunger stats, as they can trade to get some food and items to be happier.

• Barber/hairdresser for better look

  • char get better rewards with a barber. Better looking, better charism?
  • survivors see their happiness growing a little

• Blacksmith to upgrade weapons

  • char see his/her weapon upgraded or required to upgrade your weapon. not possible before to build basic BS.
  • survivors get tools to work better. results would be more food?

• tailor or something like this

  • char can upgrade his/her armor. not possible before to build basic tailor.
  • survivor get better coats and so is healthier

Also, needs something to lower their happiness/hunger/health stats

• some buildings may lower happiness. your personal buildings? Science, devices you build only for you and not for the survivors. What are the devices for? another bigger (main?) quest?
• the more you have survivors, the more you need food to feed them
• the more you go in adventures the more you have chances to come back with a disease/sickness. Is it really the moment for such an idea? Oh well it's life after all...
