When in the process do we as scholars decide a Gloss is presenting the authoritative version?
Sometimes we have only one witness to the gloss, and that is what we are recording. Other times, we might collate multiple manuscripts and adjust the Gloss text on that basis.
As scholars, we want to be able to make an assertion about whether a Gloss in GoG is just the first instance we’ve come across or established on the basis of collation.
