Thanks for reaching out @zoidy! We do support this functionality. You can re-order components by dragging and dropping them in the "Components" section on the parent project. See this help guide for step-by-step instructions: http://help.osf.io/m/projects/l/814548-reorder-components
@BRosenblatt Thanks for the reply. I think you misunderstood my question, apologies if I wasn't clear enough. I'm talking about re-organizing the hierarchy, not simply re-ordering components. I.e., if I have
Main project -> Component 1 -> Component 2
I would like to be able to do something like
Main Project -> Component 1 -----> Component 2
without having to delete Component 2 and then re-create it under Component 1
I apologize for the misunderstanding! We are currently working on allowing components to be moved around in the hierarchy. I'll let you know when this gets released (it will be sometime in Q2).
I've recently started using OSF and had this exact same question. Is it now possible to move components around in the hierarchy?
Thanks for your help!
I've also recently started using OSF. Is this feature now available?
It would be fantastic to be able to re-organize the component hierarchy in some way (e.g., via drag and drop in the Files pane).
This is a thing I've wanted to do many times since as a project matures, I've wanted to re-organize components for clearer presentation. I've also had multiple people ask me if it's possible to do it and I can sense their disappointment when I tell them it's not possible. I've suggested a workaround of creating linked projects instead of components but it's not a clean solution.
Thanks!
