Upgrades and Enhancements to Rarely used items. #84

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
Further description of the feature you'd like to see:

I'll start by listing the least if ever used items in the game. Then over time,
will add ideas to use as food for thought.

MNV34 Nightvision goggles

IAF Power Fist Attachment

Flashlight Attachment

SM75 Combat Flares

X33 Damage Amplifier

Hand Grenades

What can we do with these items to make them fun to play and not merely a side
note?

- IAF Power Fist Attachment
- Give this item a knock-back effect that works in a radius around the marine.
- Look into adding a cvar like this "one asw_blink_charge_time"
(asw_FIST_charge_time, would be our example) to create a PROGRESS METER for
recharge time. Just like the one blink has when it recharges.

Adding 3 new items to this list.

-Assault Jets - Would like to remove or SHORTEN the fancy landing animation. It
only gets you into trouble with aliens because your vulnerable for far too
long. That can make this item less fun.

-Blink Pack - Same as Assault Jets, Need to adjust the landing sequence or
maybe add 3 seconds of invulnerability on landing.

-I3a Tactical Heavy Armor - Armor that heals the marine when taking "chosen"
(melee? or PARASITE?) types of damage, But other "chosen" (ranged? or DRONE?)
types of damage will hurt the marine twice as bad "like kryptonite".

nothing about how the hud displays information can be changed, so a charge
meter (at least the type you're thinking of) wouldn't be possible.

Is it possible to display a meter above or below the marine?

Vertical would be coolest.

Or it could simply flash a hazard sign over the marines head until the item is
useable.
