Touch Terrain: A python app to create 3D printable terrain models (STL/OBJ) from only elevation data (via Google Earth Engine) or from a local geotiff. Has been used for CNC terrain models. Runs as a web app (http://touchterrain.org), as .py file (standalone.py) or as jupyter notebook. Docker image: https://github.com/ChHarding/TouchTerrain_jupyter_docker

DEM insertion tinitaly #91

hi, is it possible to also insert the Tinitaly DEMs? A thousand thanks

Sadly no, I can only use DEM sources from the Google Earth Catalog: https://developers.google.com/earth-engine/datasets/tags/dem

I’m guessing that you want to print a very “zoomed in” area where the better 10 m resolution matters? If not the 30 m AW3D30 DEM source should be fine.

If 10 m data is required you could download the tile from tinitaly website, crop the raster in QGIS and the use the ToucTerrain as standalone Colab notebook:

As you’re uploading your own DEM, you won’t have to deal with the Earth Engine Authorization part which is currently broken (working on it)
