i'm having the same issue and i noticed something on the config. by default the start time of fireflies is 12000 and the end time is 23000, so fireflies only appear on the first night, since the next nights have different times. i'm hope they fix it and make fireflies appear every night instead of just the first night.

So, I talked with the creator of the mod and they helped me tweak some settings. The list of numbers that you see, one of them is chosen at random to determine if fireflies will spawn. Try deleting all of them but one and set it to 1.0
