DDCL no longer being maintained! #118

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

For the benefit of others who like me are still checking the issues list and
wondering why there is no response from project owners/committeers and why
there hasn't been a release for a while - the following message is on the DDCL
project home page:

"Sorry, the project is not maintained any more. Please feel free to use the
code in any way you see fit."

Anyone know the background? More importantly, anyone know of alternatives?

It's a shame ... the code was well documented, lightweight and a great example
of what could be done with jquery.

The background is really simple: lack of time :)

Thank you for your kind words toward the plugin.

See http://quasipartikel.at/multiselect/ for a nice looking alternative

Adrian,
I just recently started looking for the JQuery functionality provided by your DropDownCheckList. Of the several I researched, I liked yours and made a few changes and was planning to submit the updates back to you. And then I see you are no longer supporting the project.
I could clone the source and start my own plugin, but you already have all the
development components in place. Would you be interested in handing off the
project to me? I am not sure if it is possible, but it would an interesting
test of the Open Source concept if you could hand off the access and management
of the project as-is. If you are interested, send me a note.

Adrian has handed off the project management for DropDownCheckList to me
(Warren Omohundro) and I will be actively supporting this project.
