Commit messages

Some of the commit messages seem to be quite informal or unhelpful (e.g. 'used to work now doesn't, need to figure out why'), maybe try using more meaningful commit messages to ensure that you keep track of the project state and can easily find errors later in the project / roll back to a known state.
